Our Empowering Neurodivergent Librarians professional development modules are designed to empower library staff with foundational knowledge to foster neuroinclusive, supportive, and accessible workplaces. These interactive training modules address the basics of neurodiversity acceptance and education, practical steps for cultivating an inclusive workplace culture, and managerial practices to support direct reports across library organizations.
These training modules are relevant across library contexts, and can be used by anyone with an interest in neurodiversity acceptance, workplace inclusion, and supportive management:

- If you are a youth-serving librarian in a public library, all of these professional development modules can help you make incremental but meaningful changes to your early literacy services and programs. We suggest starting with the Autism Acceptance and Inclusion training, followed by Customer Services, and finally our Autism-Inclusive Early Literacy training.

Whether you are navigating your own career trajectory or are a leader responsible for professional development, this training provides the strategic framework necessary to foster long term success.

The Neurodivergent Librarians’ Practices for Navigating Workplace Ableism Training link will be coming on Monday, August 3rd, 2026.
Neurodivergent librarians have developed their own methods for navigating inaccessible and exclusionary workplaces. This resource identifies some of those practices and details how neurodivergent library workers have used them in their library workplaces. Feel free to draw from or adapt these practices as whatever way is appropriate for your work context.

The Supporting Neurodivergent Librarians to Request Accommodation Training link will be coming on Monday, August 3rd, 2026.
Library supervisors have a responsibility to ensure that all library workers receive equitable access to the workplace and any reasonable accommodations for their work. This training will help library supervisors understand how to respond supportively and appropriately when a library worker requests workplace accommodations.
